Join us for a special lecture with NAACP of Collier County President, Vincent Keeys! The railroads have historically been one of the most important industries for African American job opportunities, and that was no exception for Mr. Keeys. After graduating from the oldest African American institution of higher learning, Cheney University of Pennsylvania, Vincent Keeys started his career with the Budd Company in 1977. In this lecture, Mr. Keeys will be sharing stories of the luxurious cars made by the Pullman Company, Bombardier Inc., and the Budd Company, and the various railroading jobs that came about.
